Will you score cat 2 and 3 separate?

OK, so we still need to get a couple of questions answered by USAC. As it stands now, we will be starting Cat 2/3 together but results will be submitted to USAC separately. If you complete the race, that will be enough to qualify you for nationals assuming you placed within the USAC qualification system.

It is very important to note that there are no categories at Nationals. Everyone who lines up is in the same race and competing for the National Championship. I think it would be best to follow that model for your race and score the categories together. As I mentioned in my previous comment, that also is much better for ranking points that racers earn which determines call up at Nationals.

From the perspective of USAC ranking points, it would be better to combine the classes to get the maximum possible points for top finishers and spread for all racers. I plan to race in order to earn ranking points for call-up at Nationals and would much prefer scoring the classes together.

Make that all categories within each age group will go off at the same time.

I would love to attend you race but the price is to extreme. When you break it down it's more than $100 per race. I did mountain bike Marathon Nationals this year for way less. I think you guys are pricing yourself out of racers. I personally know of 3 guys that have the same opinion! Good luck I hope your race is a success.

Hi! I'm not familiar with the trails ay Granby Ranch, Sounds like the first day would be ok for a hardtail, and probably the second day also, but the third day... is that on "downhill" style trails? Could/would you recommend a hardtail for all 3 days of racing? Can I use multiple bikes for the 3 day event, or do I have to stick with one bike for the whole event. Didn't see that in the rules anywhere.

Hey Dennis, the Idlewild area is pretty standard Winter Park style trails. There is a 3.5-4 mile descent that you will do twice on Day 3. If the option is available, FS wouldn't be a bad idea, but certainly fine on a HT. There are no downhill style trails on this course. No problem using multiple bikes. We'll update the rules!
